Kenneth Ames, accidental shooter
Depoe Bay resident Kenneth Ames has been indicted by a Lincoln County Grand Jury for being drunk and reckless with a gun that went off, putting a bullet into the head of his partner Lovena Terry. Sheriff’s investigators say the incident occurred in late October as the two were at their Sunnyview home. Ames called 9-1-1 to report the shooting and to call an ambulance. Terry was transported to a trauma unit in Portland for treatment of the wound, which was said to be non-life threatening.
The case was referred to the Lincoln County Grand Jury which reviewed the evidence and found grounds to indict Ames with assault, being drunk with a handgun and recklessly endangering the life of another. He’s being held at the Lincoln County Jail in lieu of $100,000.
